It's all it says it is.. firm, strong, study.
It's small—like for a kid 12 years old—but everything fits on it. It took fifteen minutes to put together. It's nice-looking, sturdy, and strong, and I wanted a smaller table to free up space in my room. As I said, my laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, cable modem, and telephone all fit on this table. I'm happy with the price at $24—perfectly priced. Because of size, it should not go beyond $30.

Excellent for the price
I got this on a sale, less than $40. For the price - it's excellent! Yes, it's laminated fiber board. The description states that ("Material: manufactured from CARB-compliant composite wood"). The only cardboard is the black back panels that prevent stuff from falling out the back. Yes, when you open the box, there are styrofoam bits that get all over...I've found that to be true with anything packed in styrofoam. The packaging did its job - not a single piece was broken or scratched. The instructions say it'll take 2 people 30 minutes to put it together. I did it by myself, and it took over an hour. But I go slowly when I put together composite "wood" furniture, because I know if you're not careful when screwing in screws or nailing in nails, you can split the MDF. Plus, the instructions were a little hard to follow, most notably with the drawer rails, but I always find those confusing. Having my husband's help would have been useful in some steps, as holding some of the pieces together while lining up the screws and holes was awkward. But all the holes were drilled and where they should be, according to the directions. The tiny pre-drilled holes in the raw MDF were a little hard to find because MDF isn't smooth, but everything was correct with my pieces. Once put together, it was sturdier than I expected! There are two back braces, each with four screws, so no wobbling. The small size is perfect. This is for my kids' laptop use in the family room. They were using an end table, but it's too short now that they're getting bigger. This is the perfect seating height, and now they can each have a shelf to store their headphones, game discs, etc. I would've liked a lighter "wood" choice similar to maple, but the size is exactly what I wanted. For a laptop desk at this price – absolutely no complaints!
