Wooden Cutting Boards are a counter top style cutting board design which will enhance the decor of the kitchen area. The simplicity of yesteryear brings all of our Cutting Board Designs alive every time you look at them. They will be a conversational piece either lying on the kitchen counter or being used on a dinner table as a Hot Plate, Coaster, or Trivet. The Wooden Cutting Board is finished with a Natural Hand Rubbed Oil finish. The finish is a non-toxic Teak Oil applied by hand. Our Teak Oil is FDA approved for food contact. The Cutting Board measures 10-1/2 in. wide x 10-1/2 in. long x 1-3/4 in. thick. This version is of an Edge Grain type glued for better longevity under normal or excessive usage.
Wooden Cutting Boards can be easy by simply hand rubbing an edible type of cooking oil on it periodically. But bare in mind, that using this kind of oil, it has a tendency to evaporate over a shorter period of time than using a more time consuming method to ensure the true longevity of the quality of our cutting boards. This better method involves using paraffin wax. The type of paraffin wax is the same as used in canning of jams and jellies. First clean the surfaces of the cutting board and then dry them well. Next, prepare the paraffin wax by a simple double boiler method. You can simply use an empty soup can of sorts and break up a bar of the wax and insert into the can
