This weird sub has saved me so many times.
I got this for a school to round out events with a bit of bass, and liked the powered outputs. I can't say how many times the flexible in/out ports on this thing has saved me. The ability to point a small wedge backwards off of it as a stage monitor is ridiculously convenient. I wind up using these (I have two) boxes more often than I do other equipment costing much more. The ability to either drive a passive speaker using it's own power or daisy chain off to another powered speaker is great. It's the only sub I've ever seen that does that. The speaker itself isn't really mind blowing in terms of performance but it will rattle the windows as long as you push it hard and don't eat up too much power driving a passive.
So much bass
We replaced two passive 18" Yorkville subs on a dedicated amp with this monster. It puts out so much more than the Yorkville subs. Our satellite speaker were already on a dedicated amp through a crossover so I didn't use the outputs from the sub. We have this cabinet throttled back compared to the previous subs and the sound mix is fantastic. We have seismic audio satellites speakers which sound great as well. Had an issue with one of them (after 5 years of use), got a hold of customer service and I got one of the most comprehensive responses I have ever seen. The tech included a list of all parts that could have been bad and there corresponding parts numbers (all were still available). He even told me how to replace the parts. Seismic Audio has a customer for life in me.
Great purchase
Bought it because I liked what I read on about it on the SA site. If it did what it said, then I'd be very happy. As it turned out, it surpassed all my expectations plus and I now use it all the time. Folks, don't let the price scare you. This sub slams and each and every weekend I beat it up and like a Timex, it keeps going and going. A wonderful reliable product all day long!!
