NPhilips Lighting Company Standard Metal Halide Lamp Limited Warranty Philips Lighting North America offers a 1-year lamp warranty for standard probe start and pulse start metal halide lamps based on 4500 hours of use per year, excluding MH1500/U lamp (6-month warranty). Philips Lighting Company warrants that HID lamps sold by it will, upon shipment, be free from defects in workmanship and materials. After expiration of any specified warranty period, all liability to the Purchaser ceases. Should there be any failure to conform to the warranty, Philips Lighting Company will, at its option, replace product or allow a defective lamp adjustment pursuant to policy. The warranty is subject to the following conditions: • No devices other than the ballasts are employed to operate the lamps. • Lamps must be operated in the base up position to be considered for the 1-year warranty. Lamps operated in the horizontal position will be covered for up to 6 months. MH1500/U lamp operated in the horizontal position will be covered for up to 3 monhts. _ • A Philips representative will have access to the failed lamps and the ballasts used to operate them. If the ballasts or other parts become suspect, the representative shall have the right to invite other manufacturers’ representatives to evaluate the situation. • Lamps failure resulting from external causes such as water and system related failures will not be covered under the Philips Lighting Company lamp warranty. The warranty and remedy set forth herein do not apply to products, parts, advice, assistance or service which Philips Lighting North America furnishes to purchaser as a business courtesy, any products or parts thereof which have been subject to misuse, failure to follow Philips Lighting North America instructions, neglect, inadequate maintenance, improper storage, incorrect installation or servicing not performed by Philips Lighting North America. Lamps must be operated at values specified in ANSI C78.series standards. The warranties and remedies set forth in the provision are exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties whether statutory, express or implied, including all warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose and all warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. /A
