Did not work

I purchased this in store. It worked in the package and when I got it home. I installed it on the steering column of my XJ jeep. As soon as I stuck it on with the double stick tape (provided) the compass stopped working. It will not deviate from north at all. The temperature will not read below 120° even when it's 60° outside and the windows are down. I will take it back any try another unit. Other than it not working it fits nicely and the double sick tape works amazingly. .. i will probably break it in half when I remove it. The clock works fine. I purchased it for the compass and the thermometer, hopefully mine was defective. ...
