Well an honest review from a Dave Clark super fan. Overall I thought this was well worth buying from the documentary point of view. I would give it 5 stars from the documentary point of view. For any fan who wants to know what it felt like to be in the Dave Clark Five, this documentary will come as close as it can. Watching all the places they played along with many of the songs they did in there career was put together really well. Disc One shows there whole story well. Disc Two I was not happy with for 2 reasons . According to my calculations, If your looking for full performances of hits, this disc is short on it. You only get about 30 minutes total of there hit songs. Dave Clark will probably release more archive video and concert footage down the road. Heaven knows there is so much more footage out there. He surely DID NOT put enough on here for his loyal fans. What he did do was concentrate on a movie he produced called " TIME " . Disc Two was filled with something that was mostly unknown to us americans in the US. It was filled with long interviews with artists that had NOTHING to do with the Dave Clark Five's success. I thought it was boring, and not in its place to be included here. Seems like Dave Clark was taking one last gasp of air to promote this 40 year old movie. Your 30 minutes of video and concert footage in full was the rest of Disc Two, and in my opinion, the only rewarding good footage on this disc. To make this what it should be, Dave Clark could have included complete performances from the 18 times they were on Ed Sullivan or the numberous other programs they were seen on. That would have made this collection a 5 star collection. But alas, they did not. Heck, I have more video footage of the Dave Clark Five that I have found and obtained from Japan , and from sources abroad then whats included here. So to sum up my review I give Disc One 5 Stars for the documentary told, and Disc Two only 2 stars for the lack of concert and video footage. The other negative I found was, I heard the song Nineteen Days alot in this disc, OVER AND OVER. While it was decent song, it was overdone here and I was hoping for more bonafide hits and more complete concert songs to be included here. " Any Way You Want It " the full version is NOT on here, just clips. This song was major in keeping the Beatles in there place, i remember well. It should have been here along with so many more great DC5 hits. Oh well, maybe in another 10 years, the hits will surface.
