Callaway did it again!!!

I switched to using Callaway fairways a few years ago when the X2 Hot Pro line came out. I hit that 3 wood and was instantly sold on the way it felt, the ability to work it both directions, but mostly being fade bias, and the distance I was hitting it from the deck. I then purchased the GBB Alpha 816 16* and liked it, but felt I did lose some distance over the X2 Hot line, but enjoyed the adjustability of it. Fast forward to the EPIC line. I purchased the Sub Z when it came out and it's by far the best driver I've ever owned in 38 years of playing, so I naturally looked into the SZ fairways. I didn't have a lot of interest at first, but decided to buy the head only from one of my sources since I didn't need the whole club due to the many aftermarket shafts I own, and had no interest in the lack luster stock shafts. I took it out to the course last week for the first time and after hitting the very first practice ball with it, I was in shock. The feel, was absolutely amazing, like an old persimmon wood. It launched with the perfect height, and went forever. It instantly kicked my gamer 816 Alpha out of the bag. Took it on the course and it got even better. I hit it off the tee twice on a very short par 4 (352 yds) with a pinched fairway, and I ended up with only 64 yards left. I was literally 40+ yards past my playing partner who is normally very close to me in distance. Then I actually went over the green with it on a par 5 that was 545 yards long, and I had 243 yards to the pin, and ended up in the back bunker. I've never reached that green in 2 over the years, but with my EPIC SZ driver and EPIC SZ fairway, I was able to go 22 yards longer than the pin. WOW.. I would say that this club is for the better player who is able to control his ball, and isn't afraid of the very small head (which I love). It's even better then my past X2 Hot, and that was the best prior for me. Bottom line is this, if you are looking for a 3 wood that looks great, feels AMAZING, launches med-high, perfect from the deck, accurate, workable, and is very loooooong, then look no further. This is just like it's big brother "for me" in the sense that it is the best fairway that I have ever owned.

Great club

After swapping the weights so the heavier one was forward, this club feels more solid than any 3 wood I've ever hit. Decreased the loft by a degree and still hit it plenty high. Love it.

Outstanding Fairway metal

This club is by far the best fairway metal I have owned. It consistently gets the ball in the air and a long way down. I'm again hitting par 5's in 2 and even lipped out a Double Eagle. I like it so much I went out and bought the 18 degree to add to the bag. A Must Buy!!!
