Best of the lot but not perfect

Hard to find an HD outdoor wireless cam at a reasonable price. This one is packed with features. HD 720 Night IR PIR motion daylight motion Wireless microphone Ethernet uSD internal and DVR options Water resistant Detachable power cord under cover flexible recording/tranmission and notifications easy remote viewing I've installed a couple of these and a bunch of other Dlink ones. It takes a bit to get the hang of setting up motion recording options but it works well. You can read license plates of vehicle within 30ft and easily ID people. Focus is better than other DLink HD cams like the 7010 (and it has a mic) Down sides are that it is relatively fragile, in as much as if it is in reach, someone one could easily tear it off the wall. Playback from the internal uSD is laborious and slow. The Dlink DVR app won't read from the internal card. You can play back via the Dlink portal or the cam web interface but it's not seamless. Connecting via SMB is very unreliable to copy whole recording folders. Sometimes not all files and folders show on an SMB share. In a serious incident I would haul out a ladder and pull the card.

Using this camera in generic ONVIF configration with a NAS personal cloud storage solution and it works well.

This device functions well with Synology Surveillance Station 7.0

Instructions not user friendly

I have 5 of them, they are a little hard to program. The instructions are not user friendly. Setting them up to send video emails is great. When motion is detected I receive a video by email, video on sad card and pictures on my ftp site. This last one I received doesn't keep the name I give it, it keeps going back to the default name. Other than that, they are good cameras for the price.
