My ophthalmologist recommended this for my dry eye problems, caused by insufficient oil production to cover the saline over the eyes. i did have to increase the recommended dosage from 3 gels to 4, but my eyesight has dramatically improved. I now only use my reading glasses for occasional close work and no longer have any need for regular glasses. Obviously, my condition is individual and yours might not benefit from this supplement. Definitely check with your eye doctor before using to ensure that you use the correct one... they have others.
