Fantastic Fluorocarbon

I'm a guide on the tidal Potomac and have been using Trilene Professional Grade Fluorocarbon for years. Other than top water and crank baits I have it on all my baitcaster rigs. It holds knots very well and does not shatter on hard hook sets like some other brands. It resists abrasion very well. I was using 10 # for a long time but have switched to 8# because it allows my soft plastic baits to sink with a more natural action. Works great for spinnerbaits too. Try it you will like it.

You've come a long way baby.

I came back to fishing in July and picked up my old Zebco 33 with momofilament line. Later I purchased a float fishing tube, a bait-caster, and some fluorocarbon line to go with it. The super-lines of 15 years ago looked like kite string and couldn't be used unless you were fishing in chocolate milk, so I was somewhat skeptical. To say that I like this line is an understatement. It is simply awesome. I use it with Texas Rigs and Drop Shot set ups. I fish primarily with plastics using a very slow, finesse approach. I can feel every rock, every branch, and whether I'm in weeds, on a sand, or mud bottom. More importantly I feel every bite. Whole new ball game with this stuff. I am willing to trade a little stiffness for the tons of other advantages this line offers. You have to make sure your knots are clean and precise; if you kink the line in a knot it has a tendency to weaken.

Good abrasion resistance and strength.

I have tried several brands of fluorocarbon and only use 100% Trilene because it doesn`t have the piano wire stiffness. But, has good abrasion resistance and strength. Its the line I use when I want less stretch while fishing baits where I need as much feel as possible to detect a strike on baits such as swim baits, worms, jigs, etc. during tournaments, as well as during my guide trips
