Rugged Ridge 18021.05 Steering Box Brace, Heavy Duty; 84-01 Jeep Cherokee XJ

The installation was harder than I anticipated. I dropped the sway bar down, also the left front leaf spring from the shackle and axle for more access. I obtained a pitman arm puller from O Reilly auto. Most of the stock bolts came out easily except the two 6 point bolts, but got them with some heat and heavy duty six point socket on Milwaukee 1/2 drive impact. One bolt in the bottom of the frame was broken off by previous owner and had to drill and tap it. Another bottom. Frame bolt, the nut in the frame broke loose. I bent an old box wrench and got on it through a hole in the frame. Well most of this so far was due to old Jeep designs. I was able to get all the bolts started except for the 5/8 inch through bolt. , that bolt didn't want to line up with the hole and was a struggle to install. Eventually it all came together and made the steering much better. Nice and solid. I still have to adjust the steering to get the steering wheel centered. It took me a few days to install, but it solved the problem.
