Wilwood 140-10094-DR Forged Dynalite Rear Parking Brake Kit Rear End: Large Chev

I recently completed the rear disc upgrade on my 83 c1500 GMC and purchased this kit for the swap. After reviewing all the mixed reviews on other products and watching a friend struggle with one from a competitors brand, I purchased the wilwood kit. It took about three weeks to ship because I ordered it over the holiday but wilwood was very good at giving a rough guest at ship date and keeping jegs informed. I did have a few questions when purchasing and installing this kit and wilwoods customer service is amazing. I had great results through phone call and email. Once I got the kit I ensured everything was there and did a mock up to ensure they fit within my 15' rim. They do fit 15s but it is snug, I had a 1/4 inch of clearance all the way around. The kit itself was extremely high quality and the powder coated calipers do look nice. Things to keep in mind before purchasing are your axle offset, rim size, and wilwood recommends you run hard lines to the calipers. You will need adapters if you are using stock brake lines. The axle offset is super important because I forgot about it and had to buy additional spacers, which wilwood also carries. You do have to remove the axle shafts to install the kit so it is a lot of work and should be done by someone who knows what they're doing. The stopping power after the install is very impressive. I am running stock calipers in the front right now and these in the rear because I didn't have enough money for the front kit at the time. Even with stock in the front, the stopping power the truck has now is impressive. You will need a adjustable proportional valve or a four wheel disk brake proportional valve. Lastly, stock e brake lines did work with the kit. Over all I am very pleased with the kit, jegs customer service, and wilwood customer service. Spend the extra money and go with the wilwoods, you won't regret it.
