Palo - Performance Cap With Detachable Sun Cape

This is a high quality "baseball" hat with a detachable sun cape. It has nice ventilation and the materials are very nice. The sun cape detaches/reattaches very easily because the snaps are robust. It's very comfortable, but what's the one issue? This only applies to those with a very large head, such as myself. Although the hat is adjustable it doesn't adjust larger. It has an adjustment strap that's useless. The hat size is limited by the material on the back above the adjustment strap. There's plenty of extra strap to loosen, but it does nothing because of that half moon shape of material that doesn't stretch and is not adjustable. The adjustment strap does not let you make the hat larger, but it would help for making it smaller. If that back hat material was able to stretch it would be a home run for those of us with large skulls. That said, I wear hats as "small" as 7 1/2 and 7 5/8" (which is extra large) and was able to wear the hat comfortably, barely, but comfortably. So just be aware if you wear 7 3/4" or 2XL hats or larger this hat probably won't work for you.

Made sure we packed this to tryout at the Indy Race. I normally burn real bad in the sun no matter the sunscreen I use. I wore this while we spent 11+ hours for 3 days out in the sun. No burn! It was surprisingly breathable. Pleasantly surprised.
