This is a review of the Rayovac Workhorse Pro™ 4AA LED Virtually Indestructible Swivel Flashlight.
The light has the industrial appearance of black pipe with some connectors attached. It is easy to handle. It is 7 1/2 inches long and at its widest 1 3/4 wide. It weighs with batteries 9 oz.
This light is a worker's flashlight and is good for a toolbox or the house tool drawer. The swivel head makes it very useful for a worker like say a plumber, HAVC technician, copy machine repair person, auto mechanic and like. Your can set it on the side or butt and rotate the head so it shines where you want it to shine.. It will not roll except on a very steep surface. Need to repair a u joint in a drain? Need to change a tire in the dark? This will shine where you need it.
It has a swivel head that rotates 180 degree with 16 click stops. But it will not depress beyond the horizontal so if set on its tail, the beam can not be directed to the surface upon which it is set. There is a metal hang loop on the butt. The switch is on the side. This is a flashlight with very good form and outline.
A flashlight is a tool and function is important. This 4 AA light has two brightness levels. 200 Lumens on high which last for 4 hours and throws 80 meters and 40 Lumens Energy Saver Mode which last for 16 hours and throws 30 meters. These specs are from Rayovac. The light cycles off, high, low. I think the times are too short as I got the 200 lumens to last much longer on rechargeable batteries. Also, the switch glows red when the batteries are low. This is undocumented in the instructions.
This light has a nice feel or heft to it. Rayovac has an outstanding lifetime warranty. The “Virtually Indestructible” line of lights has received excellent reviews in so far as durability is concerned. I run mine with rechargeable batteries as they are less likely to corrode compared to alkaline batteries. This is a very nice light with an unbeatable warranty. It feels good in your hand.
