Rubber-Cal’s Neoprene rubber is a tough sheet rubber material that is ideal for industrial applications. Rubber neoprene, also called by its chemical name chloroprene, was developed by DuPont in the 1930s to meet the demand for a rubber sheeting with chemical resistance. While other rubber materials may degrade quickly under intense physical conditions, this neoprene rubber is designed to endure. Our sheet neoprene is actually a compound, made with a 10% elastomer neoprene base and a blend of styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) and chloroprene rubber (CR) to give it the strength of both synthetic rubber materials. This mix of synthetic elastomers gives the neoprene sheet moderate resistance to oils, chemicals, and many damaging effects of weather. The result is a smooth and solid vulcanized neoprene that is highly desired for commercial and industrial applications. The unique mix of SBR synthetic rubber and neoprene elastomers that makes up Rubber-Cal’s sheet neoprene gives it great resistance to many substances that can easily degrade other synthetic rubbers. The rubber neoprene holds up against acetic acids, petroleum-based solvents, and certain oils and chemicals without showing wear for a long time. This neoprene rubber is also highly valued in outdoor applications, as it can withstand UV rays, ozone, and damaging weather effects. Though other synthetic rubber types may have stronger resistance to some of these conditions, no other material offers the diverse cumulation of resistance that rubber neoprene does. This neoprene sheet is backed with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) to skip costly installation and instead turn it into an easy DIY project. Our adhesive neoprene sheet offers excellent all-around resistance, making it versatile enough for indoor and outdoor applications alike. Another key feature of this rubber neoprene is its intense temperature range and resistance. The neoprene material performs well in temperatures from -20° to 212° F, which makes it the ideal choice for most industrial applications. No need to worry about high temperatures or heavy abrasions damaging the neoprene sheet; this 3/32" neoprene is one of the thinner options available and is excellent for detailed industrial applications such as neoprene rubber gaskets and seals. These self-adhesive neoprene sheets come in 6 different gauges to ensure the proper fit for any desired application. Different applications may also require varying levels of neoprene durometer. This soft rubber has a durometer of 50A, giving it a firm surface while allowing a reasonable amount of flexibility. The 50-durometer neoprene is strong yet pliable, making it versatile enough for any application from insulation to industrial gasketing. These adhesive-backed rubber sheets are the ideal industrial sheet rubber product.
