I actually bought this as a sign in guest book at my sisters celebration of life bec ause this was right up her alley she loved journals and loved things that were handmade. It is one of her favorite colors and it is extremely unique. She would have loved it. It is very sturdy and will last a very long time. The paper in it is really strong even though it looks the way that it does. It is the perfect size and I would think that it would serve other purposes as well. I would like to get a few more of them for gifts for my neices and nephews to keep a journal of their own
