Been using this stuff for 40 years. Cleans off rust no problem, cant repair pitting but it can clean up chrome to make it look new again. A jar has a shelf life forever, if it drys out just add a little water and its good to go. Its restores chrome back to new with very little elbow grease. Randy 45106
