The Walmart website states that this device can be plugged into ANY 3-pronged outlet, which implies that it can be used indoors or outdoors... This is NOT the case however, as the manufacturer states this is an INDOOR grounding adapter on the front and back label of the packaging... So therefore, it is not suitable for outdoor weather conditions... This is very disappointing and puzzling as most grounded-lighted-extension-cable devices tend to be made for outdoor use and at great lengths... IE: 50ft / 100ft outdoor extension cables tend to have these lights built in where the user may be too far from an outlet to be able to tell if the cord is plugged in without one... The construction of these adapters appears to be very high quality for what they are however, and for the price they are asking for them, customers should be able to use them outside without worrying that they might catch fire...
