Alaska Application

I couldn't be happier. I was told that a tank-less water heater would never work in Alaska because of the temp of the water coming out of the well. Our water comes out at approx. 42 degrees. And at full temp and full gas it will heat the water to 177 degrees and trigger the unit to shutoff because of the water being too hot. So we set the gas at about 1/3 to 1/2 and the water is heated to ~140 degrees which is plenty hot. Am ordering 3 more for our other cabins. Nothing better than a endless hot shower.

temp inconsistent

I dont like this water heater because you cant adjust at shower head, resulting in water thats too cold or scalding hot! temp is not consistant, slowly gets hotter as you shower. I guess you get what you paid for.

Hello Gabriel. The Eccotemp FVI12 temperature regulation is manually controlled, meaning that it always uses the exact amount of gas and reduces water flow by the amount the knobs are set to. Because it operates in this manner, a faucet with low water flow will run at a higher temperate than one with a higher volume of water flow. The Eccotemp FVI12 cannot be set to maintain an exact temperature regardless of which fixture you use. If your water flow varies between fixtures, or if it is changed while the water heater is in operation, the temperature will change accordingly.
