Bought this shotgun and a nerf zombie pistol for son's 9th birthday. Child had a hard time cocking this shotgun, as with the breaking action of shotgun, you need to pretty much bend the barrel 45 degrees in relation to the buttstock for it to fully recock itself. The darts load into the shells fine, and the shells load into the barrels perfect, but when you squeeze the trigger, the first dart would fly around 8 feet, and the second dart would sputter out for a maximum range of 5 feet. Compared to the zombie pistol which shoots well over 30 feet.
The shotgun shells to me was a good concept, but don't be surprised if your kids end up losing them. Shotgun only comes with 4 darts and 4 shells which is expected, but I also did not see any "reload" or extra shell kits on the shelf during time of purchase.
I am highly disappointed in this shotgun. Im also disappointed in myself for losing the receipt and throwing out the box! but that's a different story. I don't recommend this gun at all.
