These vent screens are well designed and effective. The screens are synthetic materials, so properly cared for they should have good longevity. The material is light, but tough. I love these floor vent baskets. It fit my 4x12 vents perfectly. When I first ordered them I thought it was going to be sturdy metal baskets, but it’s actually a soft mesh that can go flat for packaging and then you put the metal rectangle on the bottom of the mesh to hold it down. My son loves to throw stuff down the vent and this has been a lifesaver. I even bought more for the rest of my vents.
