Very solid, and what is not mentioned in the description is that the back can recline/rock back even when at full height, or you can lock it in place. Good quality. The only thing was the instructions weren't clear on where the 4 long bolts went to, they go to the connection of the bottom to the back piece. I was so apprehensive in buying this, but so glad I did. Don't hesitate, good it's a great chair. Just for a reference, I'm 6'2", 210lbs.
