This sugar is a bit of a cross between white sugar and brown sugar in flavor. Clean with hints of caramel.

Turbinado sugar is also considered a healthier alternative to either. The sugar is barely processed as the raw sugarcane is spun in a turbine to form light crystals. It can be used as a substitute for brown sugar due to the flavor and moisture content, but not for white.

Great stuff!

I use turbinado sugar in place of regular white sugar, especially when baking. BUT I have not been able to find any in my local stores, so I ordered it online. As usual, Walmart came thru. Now I can see why more and more people are ordering food items online.
