I hate using expensive ziplock bags for a simple one time use then throw them away. I started using WM's tie bags then went to this type of produce bags. I've been using a slightly smaller size for a couple of years so ordered these. No, they are not heavy. Certain things will go through the bags. These are just like what you put produce in at the grocery store. And I've had many of them I had to double with certain produce. But if you want a cheap bag that will do a one time job these are fine. I have to make my own lunch for work. Bread in one bag meat in another toppings in another. No washing a container just use and toss.
