ML7-12 - 12V 7.2AH Replacement UPS Battery for APC BE500U - 8 Pack

My old APC UPS unit began beeping non-stop. It's probably about 10 years old, and when I went to the APC website they (of course) recommended upgrading to a more modern unit. However, I really didn't want to spend that much money and buy a new UPS when all that was needed was a new battery. Moreover, I'm not putting anything super sensitive or super valuable on the UPS -- right now it's being used for cable modem/router, cable box, 8-year-old BlueRay/DVD player, a 10-year-old TV, a floor lamp. Granted, if the UPS fails all of that equipment could (in theory) be damaged. Given that everything is so old and the remote likelihood of the UPS failing (and the fact that insurance might cover damage), I opted to just get a replacement battery rather than buy a whole new UPS. It was super easy to replace -- is simply slides into place.I tested the unit out by unplugging the UPS from the wall (simulating power failure) and found that the battery held a charge and kept my devices running. Admittedly I couldn't deal with the beeping noise, so after 5 minutes I plugged it back into the wall. However, 5 minutes is more than enough time to save a project on the computer and power down safely.While I've only been using it for a month, the $18 I spent was worth not having to hear that annoying beep all the time and saved me from having to spend $70 on a new UPS. If anything happens with the battery moving forward, I'll update the review. I suspect, however, that it will work in the background as expected
