On the recommendation of a baseball coach, I ordered this for my 6 yo grandson that was going to be playing in several spring baseball tournaments for the first time. He plays 3rd base, but his primary position is short stop. He was definitely a little hesitant at first, but quickly adjusted after a ball popped up and hit him in the upper shoulder during one game. With some powerful hitters, thankfully, it didn't hit him any lower. Just having the confidence that he is protected, allows me to enjoy the games a little more now. He not only use the EvoShield during games, but also during regular practice. I was so impressed, I ordered an extra one to have on hand when the other was in the wash.
