[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband and I cook outside year round. We love using charcoal to bbq with. This Rockwood Lump Charcoal is different from our normal brand, and I was very excited about giving it a try. The shape of this coal is different, not all pieces are uniform in size. This isn't bad, but it made it hard to scoop out of the bag with my metal scooper. To heat up the pieces we used a charcoal chimney. They heated up fairly quickly, more quickly then other types I've used. So this was a plus, since I could start grilling sooner. The scent this charcoal gave off was different. I wasn't sure how much this would effect the taste of the meat. My husband used this charcoal on 4 different grilling occasions, each time with a different type of meat. We used it on: burgers, chicken, sausage, and bacon. The flavor on each was wonderful. The charcoal definitely gave a nice flavor to these meats. The product does state that it heats up at a higher temp and burns down faster, and my husband and I both noticed this. But, we really didn't have to use much charcoal with each grilling. So this bag should last us at least a couple more months. I'm super interested in looking into more charcoal flavors from this Rockwood company. I would recommend giving this charcoal a go and have already told my family about it. I'm looking forward to using this for my next cook out again!

It was in a heavy duty bag so it didn't rip when moving it around to cook like many bags we've used in the past. Love that it's natural, we will definitely be buying this in the future!
