I hope Nabisco keeps these around a while!

I had never heard of a "Blackout" cake, so I decided to look it up. Apparently, it was invented during World War II at a bakery called Ebinger's in Brooklyn that closed all fifty locations in 1972. The cake is made of very dark chocolate with chocolate pudding and chocolate cake crumbs. Sounds really good, but I honestly didn't expect a cookie to taste like a cake. To my surprise, it actually does taste just like a very dark chocolate cake and the icing in the center is so smooth and chocolaty that it might as well be pudding.
