MAGICAL honey from New Zealand
I am so impressed by this Manuka honey! I decided to purchase it out of curiosity after reading a short article about the difference between it and regular honey. Yes it is pricey for the amount that you get but I am a believer in its properties. There are so many ailments it treats and prevents but what made me realize this is, Im a 49 year old woman and suddenly my hormones decided to torture me like I was going through puberty again. My doctor prescribed me retin-a gel .001% and after time he finally increased it to .025% and I was thrilled at the progress I was seeing, my face was beginning to glow again. So about 2 weeks into using the .025% I used my regular face mask like I had several times before, a peel off mask. It made my the skin look marvelous. Another week had gone by and I noticed that my skin was looking rather dry and I was using several moisturizing lotions and was using a gentle cleanser by Clinique but I had these obvious discolored dry spots on my cheeks so I had the idea of using the peel off mask again, and it had been 2 weeks since I used it so I was due. WELL… this time as I was peeling the mask off it I knew something wasn't right. The mask had removed a layer of skin off my face exactly where those “dry discolored spots” were. It left me with what looked like rug burns. It was extremely noticeable and extremely painful. I'm not exactly sure what even made me think of Manuka Honey but I applied it to the burn areas nightly for 10-20minutes, not leaving it on once it became uncomfortable then rinsed it off with cold water then applied petroleum over night. It was cleared up in a week and a half. I do believe in prayer and now I believe in Manuka Honey. Oh I still use my gel but now I'm more cautious! Definitely look into this stuff, it'll blow your mind!
