Good for long events
These gels are good for use during a long race or maybe a long hike when you don't want to stop to eat. They are pretty easy to open and squeeze. I would not recommend them for a normal snack as it is basically a shot of sugar, but it will hit you quickly during an event. I have even used them swimming since they are water proof. Just put the pack back in your suit (don't litter the ocean!).
