I have outlets mounted to the underside of my kitchen cabinets which face downward. Trying to get the plug into the unseen outlet was hard bending over to look at it with bifocals was a non-starter. This device fits snuggly and makes a big difference. It would work just as well behind the couch, if you don't want the plug to stick straight out.
