I wasn't sure about giving my two granddaughters skates. The oldest turned six, and the little one is four, and while they are really active on their electric cars and scooters, they had never even seen skates. It was the oldest' birthday and I couldn't just buy her skates and not the younger one, so I purchased each a pair. They could not wait to put them on. It the funniest thing to watch them both try to skate for the first time. But by the end of the week, even as beginners, the oldest one was even skating backwards. The little one also skates backwards, but still holding to the wall. They have excellent ankle straps. They are just right in speed as the wheels are sturdy and not slippery fast. My daughter-in-law said it was the best toy they've gotten as a present. They have hardwood floors at home, so the girls do skate inside. Can't wait for the summer so they can skate outside.

The wheels light up when they spin, which I didn't know but I'm not complaining. My daughter loves them. Even prettier in person than how they look in the photos and come with 2 sets of laces.
