This is not realy wood but a composite. I think that it would be a little better if the height of the table was a little bit lower on the legs and higher top to meet 30" seems off scale. I think the table is great for the price point and the style and design. Especially for an area with a banquette.

Great Kitchen Table

I bought this table for my daughter. The styling is mid-century mod, and it looks great! It was packaged very well, and easy to assemble. The quality is good, it's heavy, and it could be solid wood all the way through. It's mid size table, no leaf, but it does have a under shelf that can be utilized, but I think it's there to create stability. One review said not to place anything too hot on the surface for fear of bubbling the top, so for sure we'll use trivets (something I do anyway); I guess it's not solid wood if it bubbles.
