Trimax SXTX200 Premium Stainless Steel "Flip-Tip" 5/8" Receiver Pin

While traveling, I lost my receiver locks. I went to the local big box store to buy replacements and this was the only design they had which fit. My gut told me not to buy them but I did figuring I was being overly worried. I was wrong. Last weekend, on the Lake Pontchartrain bridge in Louisiana, one of the pins slid out and sent our Jeep into the passenger lane. We managed to get pulled over without hitting anyone else, wrecking the Jeep into the concrete wall but not without it hitting the back end of the motorhome causing minor damage and totaling our $1800 tow bar. Add to it having to separate the Jeep from the motorhome, on a bridge with a shoulder so narrow there was not much space between us and the right lane traffic. It was 10 tense minutes to getting the two separated and off the bridge. Sure, the design is convenient to connect and disconnect, so much it may do it on it's own. If what you are using this for matters or if this were to fail could cause serious damage or bodily harm, I cannot emphasis enough to not use this design. It simply should not be sold.
