Bounty hunter Wes Rawlins (Wes Brown) is a man of few words and the American West's quickest draw. A silent but calculatingly honest man, Wes is devastated when his mother is brutally murdered by a couple of outlaws who are still on the run. Determined to solve the crime and bring justice to his family, Wes leaves his adoptive grandparents (Meredith Baxter and Barry Corbin) and sets off to find the father he never knew, a rancher named Ray Eastman (Kevin Sorbo). Ray is in the midst of an increasingly bloody feud with a corrupt neighbor, Pete Dowdy (Greg Evigan), who greedily wants to take all of Ray's land. As Wes gets to know his father and two half-siblings, Ray's deceitful wife, Mona (Gail O'Grady) holds a secret that fuels the war to a colossal final showdown.

A Great Western!

I DVR'd this movie when Hallmark first ran it and have watched it numerous times since. I am SO happy to have it out on DVD so that I can now watch it commercial free. This is a great western with a host of well-known, good actors. I loved the acting, I thought each character played their roles very well. I've watched this so many times that I notice the little things now. I thought each character portrayed their emotions and reactions very well, from Ray Eastman tearing up when he learned Wes was his son to Evigan's character's various reactions to events. He was a good villain. No show is perfect. The one thing that bugged me was some of the details of Wes's mother. Some things just did not always seem to fit. The other thing I did not understand is why Wes Brown got so little billing for this movie when he was one of the main actors. Meredith Baxter got more billing and her role was very minor, although well done. Overall, it was a great western that, in my mind, is worthy of becoming a classic.

Truly outstanding

This movie really had me guessing at the beginning and built into a climatic ending. A great movie to watch.

Good

This is a western like the Hallmarks. Interesting and with good actors without all the blood spraying in all directions.
