Way too long

The length is all wrong -- easily 2 whole inches longer than makes any sense. The waist fits fine, but the length is like Capri shorts. I need my bike shorts to stay away from my knees when I'm pedalling. Where these shorts ought to end, there's a Velcro tab for, I guess, narrowing the leg aperture, and then they go down further another couple inches. I would never cinch the legs closed (if i wanted to do that, I'd wear Lycra bike shorts), but i badly wish the hem ended where that tab sits. It's a shame because the shorts were not cheap, and tho made entirely of some kind of nylon (texture is like board shorts), they seem to be well made. Just way too long. Like 90s-hip-hop-video too long.
