I purchased my son and grandson each a knife for Christmas. The knives had 3 blades and my son and grandson were thrilled and most of all the knives were light weight so they could easily carry them in their pockets. I thought they would need a sharpening stone for later sharpening of their knives. This gift could also be used to sharpened other household knives as well. I love how the stone is travel size. Tuck it in a purse or backpack and have it on hand at all times. Never know when you are going to be at a BBQ or friends house and have to deal with a dull knife. The only problem I have is that I'm old enough to remember when these were $1-$1.50. Maybe one day they will be again. But in all honesty you should have at least 4 of these in your possession at all times. Also these stones make great gifts for pretty much anyone.

Perfect Stone
This is the perfect stone for sharpening my garden shears. The stone fits nicely in my pocket, so I can carry it around with me as I trim my trees. I like that the stone has two sides, one for evening out big nicks and gashes and the other side for refining the sharpening job. My shears and loopers are now working great. I am so happy with this little stone.
