Door Handle Broken After 2 YEARS

We purchased the item 2 yrs ago and the refridgerator door handle broke. My husband opened the door one day and it just came apart. Like many others have said, the replacement part is priced too high for a known defect.

Refrigerator handle

We have purchased 2 handles for this refrigerator. I own rental property and have many that we own. But this GE refrigerator handle has broken way too many times. And it's broken yet again. They don't let you order the handles separately, so its more expensive. And now with so many people having problems and having to buy more handles, they aren't in stock. So frustrating. Needless to say I won't be purchasing another GE product.

Poor design

There is a design and manufacturing defect in the refrigerator door handle. The top of the handle has a built in stress concentration point that causes the handle to break. I have purchase about a dozen handles so far and average life us 6-12 months. I will soon have more invested in handles than the rest of the refrigerator.
