Exactly what I needed. My 5 month puppy had outgrown the first carrier and I needed something to use in the car and it fits perfectly. I put it in the backseat and the seatbelt fits and keeps it in place. I put it in the rear passenger side and I can see him and he can see me. Note of caution: there is a strap with a hook inside the crate. I found that it was too short to allow him to move around so hooking your dog up to strap may not be a good idea.

I really like this carrier. It's a bit bulky for an older woman to handle by herself, but it's really worth the effort. I love that it has top as well as side screening. Plenty of air flow for any animals. It is extremely easy to assemble. The sliding metal bars at the top make it very easy to join and also to take apart. This folds up nicely. My animals are small and light weight right now, so can't speak about how it would hold heavy animals, but my two kittens ride very nicely.
