These sponges work very well for my dishes. I am old school and still don't have a dishwasher. I don't mind washing dishes by hand, especially when I have such an effective tool such as this sponge. They effectively clean away burnt on food without sacrificing the ceramic coating. An added benefit is how useful this sponge is when spring time comes. The abrasive exterior makes short work of the baseboard cleaning portion of my spring time cleaning. I think what I like best about them is (paired with Dawn Powerwash dish spray) how well they work on my newly purchased 18" automotive rims. Brake dust can be a bear to remove without an acidic specialized cleaner to brake down the iron particles left on the rims. After replacing the rims, I deemed it necessary to find an alternate solution so as to not damage the clearcoat and these are just what the doctor ordered. Gritty enough to clean away the brake dust without fear of damaging the clearcoat.   So far, they seem to be fairly durable so I don't find myself replacing them often which brings me to my only complaint. They are a bit pricey but then again, isn't everything. Basically, they soft enough for more delicate uses such as dishes and just enough grit to them to handle the higher demands that brake dust cleaning requires. One last added benefit is they are red in color and match my red/green kitchen decor. It fits perfectly in my green turtle sponge holder.
