Earrings are very pretty but poorly made.
Width of the hoop, side to side when looking at earring from front, is a nice wide size. Fit me like a true huggie with no room between hoop and my earlobe. Hinge is weak, all metal feels thin and flimsy. They are not as perfectly round as other huggies, but when wearing them that is not noticeable. There is a small ridge at the hinge at the bottom when closed. I fear that ridge could get caught on clothing or hair. I think if I slept in these they would bend and the hinge could break. The very first time I closed one of the earrings, not in my ear, the hoop piece went sideways past the stem where it should have met and closed. After that, the earring wouldn't stay closed. I did not “manhandle” these at all. I was able to bend the hinge and get the earring to close but I decided not to seek replacement for the one broken earring because of other issues with poor quality. When putting these on you have to manipulate them so the hoop and stem meet and close properly, not easy or comfortable to do. I did not have any problem inserting bent stem into earlobe, and I am prone to struggling with inserting any earring. Based on overall poor quality, I am afraid that the stem might eventually break off. I am looking for huggies I can wear 24/7 and that I can sleep in. I don't believe these will stand up to that. They are very pretty and are a great price for huggies this wide… they might work for you if you do not plan to sleep in them, and you get the hang of closing them. They look like $2,000 earrings, very pretty, I just wish they were a little better made. If you give these a try maybe buy the protection plan with them…
