Firstly, I'm not qualified to judge these strings for a violin, as I play guitar. But the qualities I look for in guitar I believe these strings have: (i.e. good tone. How well they stay tuned (after some settling/stretch). How strong as another measure of quality (stay tuned well is a clue, but heavy use would be needed to assess fully).
