Forged from 4340 steel, K1 rods featured a shot-peened surface finish which smooths surface blends and reduces potential stress profiles. K1 connecting rods are held to strict quality standards and undergo magnetic particle testing to ensure material properties are free of flaws. Additionally, K1 rods are balanced and tested to be within +/- 1 gram per end. A dual-ribbing design on the rod caps of K1 connecting rods helps maximize strength and allows the rod big end to maintain roundness as engine RPMs increase. Full-floating, precision-honed bronze bushings are fixed into the small ends of the rods for low friction and high wear resistance. Fitted with ARP 2000 rod bolts rated at 200,000 psi tensile strength for most applications, K1 connecting rods deliver an industry-leading combination of strength and value.
