What a great product!

I have moved my Oscars (two of them) into a 125 gallon tank and after 2 weeks started having a nitrite issue. I had been using the API and Seachem products to help cycle the tank and they got me over the ammonia build quite quickly however when the nitrites spiked to 3 to 4 ppm I was worried. API and Seachem seemed to be not working as well as they did on the ammonia so came the water changes. After 4 days of fighting this I read a review from another customer that noted similar issues I was facing. I went and bought three bottles (3.38 oz ea) which was all that was on the shelf and enough to treat 60 gallons of water and put them into my tank. I went to work and at the end of the day I checked the nitrite level again and I was shocked! The nitrite level had dropped to .25 ppm! This morning all was holding good nitrite was below .25 ppm (just enough to change color from light blue to a light shade of purple). This is my new cycling product. Two thumbs up.

All I can say is WOW!

I am a beginner aquarist and as such ended up in a big box pet store looking to get set up. To summarize I added too many fish too soon and had some new tank casualties. I spent the next 2 weeks doing 50% water changes daily to dilute the nitrites which were building up to very high levels. I conditioned the water with high doses to keep the harmful bacteria safe from the fish but every 24 hours revealed that the nitrites kept climbing to high levels. After reading a lot of help forums and other professional sources I was directed to this product. I have a 20 gallon tank and I poured the whole bottle in with fish plants filters and everything else in the tank at 9 PM. It was ugly cloudy but was completely clear by morning. Now for the WOW! I took a water sample 12 hours after pouring in Tetra Safe Start+ and tested it. I had 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites. It has been 3 days now since I stopped doing water changes and my readings are still zero. I have a heavily planted tank and the nitrates are are staying low too.I know this product isn't supposed to work overnight but I believe because I struggled my tank for 3 weeks it did perform this nitrogen cycle miracle.Thank you Tetra!

Absolute Best

Tetra SafeStart Plus is the best!When I found this SafeStart Plus It was a total game-changer for me. My Guppies & Shrimp are not just surviving BUT thriving and it's because of Tetra's water care filtration tropical foods etc... I don't only use Tetra products but I trust them with my passion.Sincerely Very Happy Customer
