I used this to marinate chicken for chicken Chilaquiles and it was outstanding..! also, despite odd review, it ranks as my top favorite, flavorful and just enough spice, of verde sauces next to Beekman Green Chile salsa verde, which can be a tad too spicy and dominant making it less versatile as a sauce, dressing/condiment or marinade than this Green & Mean salsa. Best part is that Guy Fieri is on the jar, always catches the attention of guests!

It's got my vote...

Maybe because this was the first Verde type salsa I ever tried, I keep coming back to it. It's not mean if your thinking spicy but the flavor is blended so well that the ingredients tie themselves together. I've tried other more popular brands just to see for myself and there nothing but ground up chilies and vinger like a relish more than anything. Glad I was able to find it since my supermarket is hit or miss...

pretty wretched

This stuff has an odd interesting flavor, probably from the poblano pepper and celery. But it's really slimy and lacking much desireable flavor or quality. It says "Green and Mean" but it's very bland and lacking any chili heat. We tried it various ways, even in scrambled omelet and over cottage cheese. Mostly it detracted from whatever food we used.
