We do a lot more cooking at home. Having fresh herbs is a great way to liven up the dishes. Desiring a patio garden for easy access, we decided to go for this option.
The design is simple. This is a self watering planter that has hollow walls. 4 legs that are installed by using gentle taps with a rubber mallet. There is a drainage port at the bottom, whereby a filter and a handful of stones is used to allow just the right amount of water to remain in the planter.
This is 32.5" high, 39.5" wide, and 24.5" front to back. Interior dimensions are 34x15x14" but the slots for the legs and the channels take up some room, and the base tapers at the bottom.
The planter is stable, especially filled with soil. You can also exchange the plastic legs with treat 4x4 lumber. The advantage of the lumber is that you can make the height more ideal to your own, but the plastic legs make the planter about the height of a patio table.
The planter is accompanied with 4 stainless steel hooks but I would switch it with aluminum since it oxidizes but doesn't rust.
Filling the planter involves removing a plastic cap in the corner and using a hose.
It is an ingenious design. The product is made in the USA. It is made of polyethylene and this contains no BPA.
Great addition to our deck for easy access fresh herbs.
