Do Not Buy – Warranty is Meaningless
From the very start, I have had multiple issues with the FT9000AR power wheelchair I purchased, which is supposedly covered under the 1-year manufacturer warranty. These problems are not related to normal use or wear, but appear to stem from poor assembly and quality control: The controller response is delayed and inconsistent, leading to unsafe and unintended movement. The controller mount is tilted/angled, making accurate steering difficult and increasing the risk of unintentional collisions with people and objects. The buzzer is so loud that I cannot wear my hearing aids while using the chair. The travel bag, sold as “universal,” does not even fit this chair. The biggest issue is that Fold and Travel refuses to honor their own warranty. My front wheel is damaged and needs replacement, making the chair difficult and unsafe to use. Despite contacting the company, I have been met with resistance and outright refusal to help. I even had to dispute the charge for the travel bag through my credit card company after Fold and Travel ignored repeated requests for support. My credit card company issued a refund because Fold and Travel did not respond to them either. Now, unbelievably, Fold and Travel is demanding that I repay them for the bag (which did not fit and I no longer have) before they will fix my wheelchair. When you purchase medical equipment—especially something as critical as a wheelchair—you expect safety, reliability, and a company that will stand behind its warranty. Fold and Travel has failed on all counts. Shame on Fold and Travel for selling unsafe products and refusing to honor their warranty.
