this percolator is great. the coffee tastes great. it brews quickly and automatically stops perking when done. it maintains the coffee temp hot but doesn't burn ir get scalded taste. we love it. the only minor issue is that you have to be careful when filling the brew basket. if you use a scoop, it is s tight fit. it takes a while to learn how not to spill the ground coffee. also, the basket us hot - so be careful when you empty it

Compared to another brand I used for years, I like the West Bend 12-Cup Percolator better because the heating element at the bottom floor has a smooth surface and it is flush with the floor so that, compared to other brands, it stays cleaner and it is much easier to clean when removing coffee oils and water mineral scale build up. The functions and durability so far seem very good. The coffee tastes great.
