Locks and unlocks when necessary, can unlock from the outside if the dog locks himself in. Installation was what I expect from a doorknob of this type.

With this high quality, great looking product, 10 minutes, and a phillips head screwdriver, the job is done! It looks fantastic and fits like a glove!! Thanks, Schlage!!
