well thought out product

I have been thinking about buying a portable mill for a few years. I am making good use of mature cedar trees that had rot at the bottom, but were sound a few feet up. I don,t need a loader or trailer to move the logs. I just set up on my woods road and make lumber.

Works great long as you have something for the first cut.

With the price of lumber, and the cost and wait times for a quality bandsaw mill, you can't beat the Alaskan. If you have a good chainsaw, simply hook it up and cut boards. It's also convenient enough to take to the log instead of the hassle of having to bring the log to your permanent mill.

Awesome Sawmill that makes you want more!

I bought this about a month ago as a retirement gift to myself and it's awesome! Easy to assemble in about half an hour (had to find my tools in the garage) and attaches easily to the saw. The made to spec guide rails would make using it much easier, but I'm cheap, so went with 2x4's....they work fine with some fiddling. The only problem is now I'm wishing I had a bigger chain saw and the money for a second, larger, sawmill!
